1. The chapters throughout the book don’t have any title names. Pick three chapters out of the book, and give them chapter titles, and explain the reason for the titles.

 

 

2. At the end of Chapter 1, there is a paragraph in italics with imagery of the summer. Using the context of the rest of the book, what is the significance of this paragraph, and why would the author include this at the end of the first chapter?

 

 

3. What is the gift ‘more perfect than the moon?’ Why does Sarah keep repeating the phrase, “more perfect than the moon” when describing the gift?

 

 

 

4. Why is Cass upset when she finds out what the gift is? How is she able to overcome this anger by the end of the book?

 

 

5. How do her journal entries throughout the book show her emotional development by the last chapter?
